There are discrepancies involving Martha Parmalee's year of death. The more credible of the two death certificates that exist for Martha Parmalee, daughter of A & A Parmalee of Wilmington, VT, lists her DOD as 14 January 1838. The second, listing the DOD as 14 January 1836, appears to be a transcription made in 1919 which introduced an error in the year of death. According to both death certificates, Martha was 6 years old at the time of her death. The age on her stone looks like 13 on close inspection, but more like 6 in longer view.
