Mr. Peele served the Town of Manteo as a commissioner from 1983 until 1985, a member of the Manteo Masonic Lodge #521 AF&AM where he was Past Master and served his country honorably in the United States Navy.
Rudolph was the son of the late Wesley Litchfield and Etta Stowe Peele and the husband of 58 years to Maxine Russell Peele of the home.
He is survived by a daughter, Martha Ann Peele Lewk and husband Jim of Coconut Grove, FL; a son, Thomas Wesley Peele and wife Nancy of Manteo; five grandchildren, Thomas Ryan Peele and wife Jennifer of Manteo, Nicole Lewk of Orlando, FL, Shane Lewk of Coconut Grove, FL, Lyle W. Peele and Cain W. Peele both of Manteo and one great-granddaughter Sailor McKenzie Peele of Manteo.
A celebration of life was held in Twiford's Colony Chapel, Friday December 17, 2010, Rev. Ronnie Midgett officiated. Burial was in Manteo Cemetery.
