He was the son of Etta and Litchfield Whedbee Peele of Manteo. He was a devoted husband and grandfather.
Survivors include his loving wife, Louise Whedbee Peele; children: Dianne K. Holloman of Virginia Beach, Barbara J. Waterfield of Charleston, S.C., Johnny B. Holloman of Virginia Beach and Stephen R. Holloman of Virginia Beach; a brother, Rudolph Peele of Manteo; and grandchildren: Amy and Angel Waterfield, Perry and David Barhydt and Sarah Holloman.
A graveside service was held Wednesday. Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel, Virginia Beach, was in charge.
