VETERAN BASIN GAME OFFICIAL CALLED BY DEATH

David John Thompson, 70, of Altonah for 30 years employed by the Utah Fish and Game Commission as a warden died Thursday of last week at 8:55 a.m. in a Salt Lake hospital of gall bladder disease.

He was born in Kanosh April 24, 1870. For approximately 20 years he resided with his parents in Spanish Fork. He later resided in Vernal and Altonah.

He was active in LDS Church and Civic Affairs in the communities in which he resided.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Caroline Roach Thompson of Altonah; five sons, David John Thompson of Magan; Clifford Thompson, of Pavillion, Wyoming; James Thompson of North Dakota; Jesse and W. R. Thompson of Ouray; five daughters, Mrs. Cecelia White, Mrs. Eleanor Chatlin and Mrs. Bert Lister of Altonah; Mrs. Alice O'Brien of Las Vegas, Nevada and Mrs. Vera Kofford of Duchesne.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday noon in Altonah LDS Ward and burial was in Maeser Cemetery.
