ADAM PIFER, WAR VETERAN, IS DEAD
RESIDENT OF VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP EXPIRES AT AGE OF 83 YEARS.
Adam Pifer, aged 83, of Van Buren Township, died at about 7:30 yesterday morning from hardening of the arteries after he had been ill for about 11 months. Mr. Pifer was born in Van Buren township on July 21, 1839, his parents being Mr. and Mrs. Peter Pifer.
On Oct. 29, 1871, he was married to Margaret Wahl. Four children were born to them of whom two survive. F. W. Pifer, Buffalo, N.Y. and Mrs. C. H. Smith, who resides at the home of her father.
Mr. Pifer was an old soldier having been a member of the 21st regiment of Ohio Volunteer Infantry.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
