Beverly L. Benedict, 68, formerly of Waynesboro, PA, died on Sunday, October 28, 2007 in Menno Haven, Chambersburg. Born on October 21, 1939 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of Lenora Peiffer Shatzer, of Hagerstown, MD, and the late Herbert M. Shatzer.

A 1957 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School, Beverly was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Chambersburg, where she sang in the church choir.

Surviving her are four children: Terra (and husband, Kenny) Tharp of Waynesboro, Michael (and wife, Anne) Benedict, Mickey (and wife, Melissa) Benedict, all of Chambersburg, and Todd (and wife, Annette) Benedict of Waynesboro; one brother, Jack Shatzer, of Mechanicsburg; two sisters: Christine Stoner of York and Wendy Staley, of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren: Jason, Ryan, Alex, Mitchell, Tanya, Nicklaus, Taylor, Brandon, and Morgan; and one great-grandson, Cody Lee. One grandson, Gary, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, November 1st, 2007 in Central Presbyterian Church, 40 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, with the Rev. Matthew Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Wednesday in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, and also from 9-10 AM on Thursday in the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Menno Haven Benevolent Fund, 2075 Scotland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
