Edward Appler
Death Occurred This Noon at His Home on Mandeville Street.
The death of Edward Appler occurred at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Appler, 705 Mandeville street, at 11 o'clock this morning. He had been ill since last Saturday with pneumonia. He was born in Utica, August 30, 1874. He attended St. Joseph's School, the Advanced School and Gilbert's Business College. For a number of years he worked for John E. James, who at one time conducted a grocery store on Pearl street. For the past 10 years and until his final illness, he was employed as tally man at the Ontarion and Western freighthouse in this city. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church and the Bavarian Sick Aid Society. […] he was a Republican. December 25, 1902, in Mechanicsville, he married Miss Catherine Walsh, who survives. Mr. Appler was well known in this section of the city and his death will come as a shock to all his friends. Besides his parents and wife he leaves three brothers, Joseph, John, and Matthew Appler, three sisters, Miss Martha Appler, Mrs. Ella Keiser all of this city and Mrs. Frank Nicholson of New Hartford.
