A special tribute to J.K. Luton, 88, was held at the First Methodist church officiated by Rev. F.P. Colver. Mr. Luton was well known in Olney and had formed many friendships through his position as subscription representative for the Wichita Falls Times and Record News.
Mr. Luton would have observed his 89th birthday in October of this year his friends presented him with a large number of gifts before his death. He had been a resident of Olney since 1925.
He had been in usual good health until recently when a carbunkle developed. His illness became serious several days ago, but he was thought to have rallied just a few hours before his death. His death resulted from the Carbunkle.
Survived by wife; two daughters - Mrs. S.N. Falcone, Mrs. J.C. Waits; son - Smith L. Luton, one granddaughter, three grandsons.
