Jacob Thierer was born 13 July 1848 in Weston, Platte County, Missouri, the son of Jacob Thierer I and Mary Margaret Bentz.

The family removed in the mid 1850's and settled near Manhattan in Eureka Valley Ogden, Riley County, Kansas. They were farmers.

Jacob died at the age of 11 1/2 years on 13 Jan 1860 in Eureka Valley. He was buried in the Thierer Family Cemetery, Manhattan, Riley County, Kansas.
