Dr. Buchan was for many years prominently identified with the political affairs of Dodge County, representing this county in the General Assembly and occupying other positions of honor and trust. He was also held in high esteem by the members of the medical profession and was greatly loved by the people among whom he practiced that profession. Dr. Buchan and his wife, Nancy Jane Lancaster had 11 children.
