Fielding - Elmo Doyle Munson, 71, of 200 W. Main, died Thursday, April 23, 1987, in St. Benedict's Hoppital in Ogden of cancer.

He was born Sept. 19, 1915, in Tropic, Utah, a son of John D. and Sarah Winn Munson.

He married Flo Godfrey on July 6, 1938, in Fielding. The marriage waas later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

He was reared and educated in Tropic, Utah, and Paul, Idaho.

He worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in Paul, Idaho. He worked in California at the Huntington Beach hotel. He also worked as a farmer in Fielding and at Bear River Farm Supply in Garland. He worked for Pillsbury Mills as a fumigator for 33 years. After his retirement he continued to work for Pillsbury Mills as an elevator inspector for graineries in Nebraska, Wyoming and Idaho.

He was commissioner of the Fielding Cemetery District and was a past member of the Fielding Lions Club.

He was an elder in the Fielding LDS Ward and served in the past as a home teacher.

Surviving are his widow of Fielding, one son, E. Forrest Munson, Fielding; two sisters, Mrs Jack (ReVon) Petty, Brigham City, and Mrs. Lynn (Della) Hatton, Sunnymead, Calif.; one step-brother and two stepsisters, Lowell Farnsworth, Fruit Heights; Mrs. Grace Hales, Tremonton; Mrs. Hazel Allen, Fort Collins, Colo.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Services will be conducted Tuesday at 12 noon in the Fielding Ward Chapel with Bishop Donald Petersen officiating.

Friends may call at Rogers Mortuary, 111 N. 1st E., Tremonton, Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m.

Interment in the Fielding Cemetery.
