STAMBAUGH—Miss Inis Ericson, 91, of 418 Eighth, died at Iron County General Hospital on Nov. 21.
She was born May 3, 1892 in Crystal Falls, where she grew up and attended the public schools. She graduated from the Madison Sanitarium School of Nursing, Madison, Wis., on Feb. 27, 1919. She affiliated in obstetrical nursing at the Chicago-Lying-In Hospital and affiliated in pediatrics at the Children’s Memorial Hospital, also in Chicago. Miss Ericson was a private duty nurse for many years and upon moving to Bates Township was employed as a registered nurse at the Stambaugh General Hospital, retiring on Aug.1, 1969. She moved to Stambaugh in 1971 and had been a resident of the Iron River Nursing Home since 1981. She was an avid flower gardener and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Iron River.
She is survived by several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Ericson; a brother Erwin Ericson; and a sister, Irene McClellan.
Visitation was held at Brooks-Langenberg Funeral Home of Iron River.
Services were held on Nov. 22 at the funeral home. The Rev. Kenneth Williams, pastor of Seventh Day Adventist Church, officiated.
Burial was in Bates Cemetery.
