HIRAM H. MILLIKEN
Hiram Hughes Milliken, a well known and highly esteemed citizen, died at his home at New Freeport, Friday, December 22, aged 75 years, following an illness of several months. Mr. Milliken was a son of Jonas and Elizabeth Hughes Milliken, deceased, and spent his entire life in Springhill townhip. He had engaged in farming and stock raising and was very successful. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill M. E. church, and always took an active interest in the affairs of the community. He was twice married. His first wife was Miss Sarah A. Shough, who died in 1892. He later married Miss Nancy Ayres, who with the following children survives: Mrs. Emma Kirkhart, and George Milliken, of Hundred, W. Va., and Rex Milliken, of Moundsville, W. Va. Three brothers, and two sisters also survive, Samuel Milliken, of Waynesburg; Fremont Milliken, of Orleans, Neb., George Milliken, of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Lorena Houston, and Mrs. Emma Sellers, of Limestone, W. Va. The funeral services were held Sunday in the Pleasant Hill Church, conducted by the Rev. Arthur Canfield. Interment in the Pleasant Hill cemetery.
