MRS. ROBERT OTTO IS CALLED BY DEATH
Succumbs Sunday Night After a Short Illness--Interment Made at Fredonia

Mrs. Robert Otto of this city, died Sunday night after a short illness. Her condition was such that the attending physicians, Drs. Gulick, Smith and Dr. Woodcock of Greeley, Colo., were unable to relieve her suffering and as a last resort decided that there might be a slight chance of performing a successful operation. The operation was made Saturday night, but death followed Sunday night. The obituary:

Anna Schloesser was born in St. Louis, Mo., Feb. 26, 1878, and died at her home in Goodland after a short illness, on January 1, 1922, at the age of 43 years, 10 months and 5 days. Her early training and education were received in Fredonia, Kans., whither her parents moved. Here also in May, 1896, she was united in marriage to Henry Schnakenberg of Wellington, Kans. To their union two children, Mrs. Wm. Vollick, and Frank Schnakenberg of Goodland, Kans.

In July, 1900, she became the wife of Robert Otto of Fredonia, Kans., and became the mother of two children, daughters, one dying in its early days, and the other, Mrs. D. H. Walker, of Goodland, Kans.

In 1904 Mr. and Mrs. Otto and family moved to Goodland at which place they have since made their home. Mrs. Otto was of a kind and loving disposition, whose life was wrapped up on the betterment of her children. Her many deeds of kindness and sympathy will ever be remembered by her friends and relatives in whose hearts she has built up a lasting monument of love.

Besides her husband, Robert Otto, and three children, Mrs. Wm. Vollick, Frank Schnakenberg and Mrs. D. H. Walker of Goodland, she leaves to mourn her death, three grandchildren, William, Harold and Maxine Vollick, four brothers, William, Leo, Frank and Victor Schloesser, all of Fredonia, Kans.

The funeral service was conducted from the home Tuesday evening at 4:30 o'clock. Father Mulvihill read the Catholic burial service, after which he made a short address. He sympathized with the relatives because their sorrow should have occurred during the joyful and happy season of Christmas. He commended the deceased for some of her many virtues.

The body was later that evening taken to the depot where it was put on board No. 6 for Fredonia, Kans. Interment was made Thursday morning in the Catholic cemetery, Fredonia, Father Larkin of that parish officiating.

May her soul rest in peace!
