Mrs. John Boston, Sr., who was taken to the Blair hospital a few days ago suffering from cancer of the stomach, died at 1 o'clock Sunday morning and the funeral was held at the Christian Church at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon Conducted by Rev. G. W. Stansbury.
Miss Marie Compton was born Scioto County, Ohio June 17, 1838. She was married to Mr. John Boston in 1854. They came to Nebraska in 1864 and settled on the homestead southwest of town where Mr. Boston died many years ago.
She is survived by six children, Mrs. Peter Reifer of O'Neal, Nebr.; Albert of Boone, Iowa; Joseph of Kansas City; Malcom, Mrs. Mike Thompson and John of the vicinity of Blair; also a brother, John Compton, Sr. a half sister, Mrs. Thomas Scott and two half brothers, Dine and Dan Carter
