During WWII, she moved to Seattle to work for Boeing, building airplanes to support the war effort while her husband was serving in the Navy in the Pacific Theater. Her husband later worked for Cities Service Gas Company, in which, Mary, until her death, still kept in contact with friends from the company.
Mary dedicated her life to helping people. She volunteered at at the Senior Center in Blackwell, OK, and volunteered at the Fire Department in Hemphill, TX, and was an active member of the Senior Center in Scotts Valley, CA. Mary and her husband loved to travel all over the U.S. and Canada, enjoying the sites and fishing.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Manual and Sam Faust; half brothers, Harry Kelln and Newman Kelln. She is survived by her son, Ray and wife Teresa Cales of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Brian Cales of Stillwater, Kristen Cales of Ypsilanti, MI; sister, Leah Kelln and step-brother, Ezra Kelln both of Shattuck, OK.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any Hospice group of your choice. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, September 30, at Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond, OK. Published in The Oklahoman on Sept. 27, 2001
