Robert D Shavalier, President of the Common Council of Ravenna, and member of the school board of that village, was killed about noon Saturday when the little gasoline motor car on which he and W C Hough, station agent of Ravenna were traveling from Conklin to their home town, was struck by the electric car on the Pennsylvania railroad. Hough saved himself by jumping and shouted a warning to Shavalier, who apparently did not hear and was killed. Hough escaped with severe cuts and bruises. The accident occured near the Crockery Creek Bridge in Ravenna. Funeral service for Mr Shavalier were conducted by Rev Mann, a former pastor, on Monday.
