27 Mar 1845 in Cherry Twonship, Butler County, Pennsylvania.
Died:
At the home of his daughter, Mrs S H Funkhauser in New Brighton, recently.
Surviving:
two children, Mrs S H Funkhauser, and John McNees; a sister, Mrs Margaret Russell, and a half isster, Mrs Abbie Miller.

As Samuel was discharged from the military after the Civil War, records had an "E" added to the end of his last name. Not wanting to loose his pension he kept the spelling of McNeese.
