Rites Set For Mattox Nathan Davis Mattox, 83, of route 2, Mooresvllle, In the Sherrllltown community, died 6:40 p.m. Monday at tiic Veteran's Administration Hospital In Salisbury following a lengthy Illness. He was born In Leesvllle, Va., Nov. 19,1894, to Bruce and Comenla Mitchell Mattox. The retired furniture employe of Morgan's Manufacturing Co. in Black Mountain was a veteran of World War I. He served as a marine. He Is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marie Brobncr Mattox; a son, Dr. Balfour D. Mattox of Arlington, Va.; and two daughters, Mrs. Peggy McKennla of Lynchburg, Va., and Mrs. Ray (Ruby) Kluttz of Mooresville. Three brothers, Cloy Mattox of Bassett, Va., Samuel Matlox of Radford, Va., and Wilbur W. Mattox of Salisbury; and one sister Mrs. P. N. Hogan of Roanoke, Va., also survive. There are 10 grandchildren. Funeral services arc scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cavin Funeral Home Chapel in Mooresville with Rev. John D. Hunter presiding. Burial will follow in Glennwood Memorial Park. The body will lie in state at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight. The family will be at the Kluttz residence at 762 Edgemoor Drive in Mooresville.
