Mrs Artemesia Reed, 76, was burned to death in her home 4 miles north of Crossville on Sunday. She died at 11 a.m. Sunday as a result of burns she sustained around 1 a.m. that morning. The remains were buried at Forbus, Fentress county at the side of her husband, who passed away about 10 years ago. The funeral services were held at Tollett's Chapel.
Mrs Reed was born and reared in Fentress. She and her husband moved here about 20 years ago. She had been living by herself.
Surviving is one son.
