Funeral services for Clara Crump, 82, of Hillsboro, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Amling/Schroeder Funeral Home, Myrtle Point Chapel, 404 Seventh St. Pastor Marcie Collins will officiate. Interment will be at Catching Creek Cemetery.
She was born April 26, 1919, in Catching Creek. She died Jan. 4, 2002, in Hillsboro.
Clara helped her brothers and sister work their ranch. She kept to herself most of the time. From 1966 to 1981, she worked as a nanny, housekeeper and personal assistant for Mr. and Mrs. Earl Adams Sr. She enjoyed doing crafts such as sewing and working in the garden. In 1981, she moved to Hillsboro to be closer to her family, with whom she enjoyed spending her time. She helped with the Veterans of Foreign Wars for 15 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Marie VanderZanden of Beaverton; granddaughter, Crista Lindberg of Portland; grandson, Carl VanderZanden of Portland; sister, Betty Frazier of Myrtle Point; and brother, Keith Bushnell of Myrtle Point.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Oregon Alliance for the Mentally Ill, c/o Amlng Schroeder Funeral Service, Myrtle Point Chapel, 404 Seventh St., Myrtle Point, Ore. 97458.
