"Services for the Rev. Bradford W. Crane, 89, Norfolk, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at the First Baptist Church in Norfolk. The Rev. Frank Armstrong will officiate with burial in the Prospect Hill Cemetery." He died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000 in Norfolk. "The son of William and Ella (Quackenbush) Crane was born July 23, 1911, at Tilden. He grew up in Norfolk, graduating from Norfolk High School in 1928. He then attended Norfolk Junior College.

He married Esther Stirk on May 24, 1934. The couple farmed southwest of Norfolk. He was a sales representative for Cornhusker Seed, Central States Insurance and Qoyker Manufacturing of Hull, Iowa.

In 1953, he was ordained into the American Baptist Ministry and served as pastor for the Pilger Baptist Church and the Obert Baptist Church.

On Nov. 11, 1984, he married Leola (Olsen) Toelle in Sioux Falls, S.D. He served as a visiting pastor for Norfolk Baptist Church, then assisted at a number of churches following his retirement. The Rev. Crane was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norfolk and the Gideon Bible Society."

He was survived by his wife, 4 sons and their wives, 1 stepson and his wife, 2 daughters and their husbands, 1 stepdaughter and her husband, 2 sisters Charlotte Peeples of Palisade, Colo., and Eleanor Nordyke of Norfolk; 26 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
