George was the son of William Chambers and Lucinda Helm Chambers and the husband of Susan Elizabeth Hardesty Chambers. George & Susan were married June 27, 1879 in Urbana, Iowa.

He was a farmer who reportedly kept his money in a cigar box in the barn and wouldn't go to Chicago for fear of being shot by Al Capone. His cause of death was fracture of his left femur due to arterio-sclerosis & old age plus shock and cardiac decompensation? when he fell off of a commode.
