Died at midnight Monday at Residence, 553 Blanchard. A native of Liberty, Miss., he was 62 years old and was an employe of Esso Standard Oil Co. refinery. Body taken to Brown Funeral Home in Liberty, Miss. Services Wednesday afternoon at Bethel Baptist Church in Liberty, Miss.

Pallbearers, all nephews, include Buddy Bates, Wallace Kirkland, Wesley Caston, Audrey Kirkland, Billy Jack Caston and Bobby Green.

Survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Jenkins of Baton Rouge; mother, Mrs. R. J. Smith, Liberty, Miss.; one son, Earl Wade Smith, Alemeda [sic Alameda], Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Truett Tumey and Mrs. Lyman Jones of Liberty, Miss., and Mrs. Alfred Wall, Baton Rouge; six sisters, Mrs. W. A. Ravencraft, Mrs. E. W. Kirkland, Mrs. Jack Caston, Mrs. Bernard Dunaway, all of Liberty, Miss., Mrs. Will Trask of Norwood and Mrs. D. E. Green, Beaumont, Tex.; one brother, F. L. Smith, Baton Rouge.
