the daughter of the late Walter Lee Poston and Katie Brown Poston. She was retired from Fieldcrest-Cannon, Inc. after many years of service. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, John Robert Hall, Sr. in 1965; her second husband, James Allin Walls in 2005; a daughter, Brenda Sue Whitling in 2003; and seven brothers and three sisters. The funeral service will be at 12 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, in the Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, officiated by Rev. Ted Davis and Bill Poston. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Survivors include her children, Bill Poston and wife, Dollie, of Landis; James Hall, of Spruce Pine; John Hall, Jr., Douglas Hall and wife, Leisa, Earlene Hall Arquette, all of Salisbury; and Bobby Hall and wife, Sherry of Kannapolis. She is also survived by two stepdaughters, Mary Ann Nail of Salisbury and Ruby Nell Walls of Butner; one sister, Hazel Ross of Kannapolis; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
