THE COFFEEVILLE COURIER: COFFEEVILLE, MISS.: JULY 3, 1952
HENRY H. BREWER
Henry Harrison Brewer, age 81, died at his home in the Pilgram Rest Community last Saturday afternoon, June 28, 1952, after having been ill with heart ailments for several months.
Mr. Brewer was born near Air Mount Community February 8, 1871. He lived most of his life in that section, and was at the time of his death living in his parents old home.
In September of 1910 he married Miss Mary Ellen McCammon who survives. He was a long-time member of Union Hill Methodist Church and he also belonged to the Woodman Lodge.
A store of rare qualities, such as honesty, friendliness and kindness, found a harbor of refuse in this man's heart. Out of that store he gave freely--love, sympathy, hope appreciation, encourgement and hope, fruit which ripen in the everlasting years. These given freely to friends and loved ones down through the years will shine now in the darkness of his passing and shed a new light upon the spacious fields of eternity.
Beside his wife, Mr. Brewer is survived by one daughter, Mrs Carlos Bagley, of Jackson, Miss.; two sons, Robert Brewer of Washington, D. C., and James Brewer who lives at home; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Perryman and Mrs. Lucy Simpson, both of Coffeeville, Miss.; one brother, J. W. Brewer, of Canton, Miss.; three grandchildren, Sara Louise Brewer, Washington, D. C., Carlos, Jr. and Philip Bagley of Jackson, Miss.
Funeral services were at Pilgram Rest Church at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 30, 1952, where a great crowd of people gathered to pay tribute to a life that had been a credit to the community. Rev. Johnny Dinas conducted the service, assisted by Rev. Wilton Simpson of Leake County. The body was laid to rest in Pilgram Rest Cemetery with Garner Funeral Home of Grenada, Miss. in charge.
Pallbearers were Joris Vickery, Ben Simpson, Dalton Dorris, Pete Dorris, Dave Walters, and Rufus Gray.

Added note: Henry Harrison Brewer and his brother-in-law Thomas M. (Tom) Perryman were both buried the same week.
