Funeral services for Betty Lorraine Jarvie were conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 16, 1998 at the LDS Church in McKinnon. Bishop Jon C. Wilde conducted the services. Interment was in the Mountain View Section of the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.

Mrs. Jarvie, 67, of McKinnon, died at 5:28 a.m., Tuesday, May 12, 1998, at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County where she had been a patient for one day. A long time McKinnon resident, Mrs. Jarvie had been in ill health for the past several years.

Mrs. Jarvie was born on Nov. 20, 1930 in Price, Utah, the daughter of the late Birnell and Nora Averette Olsen. Mrs. Jarvie attended schools in Green River, and graduated from the Green River High School with the class of 1949.

She married Alonzo R. “Lunk” Jarvie in Green River on Nov. 5, 1950.

Mrs. Jarvie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her pursuits included quilting and gardening.

Survivors include her husband, Alonzo R. “Lunk” Jarvie of McKinnon; her mother, Nora Olsen of Price, Utah; one daughter, Carol Lynn Gardiner of Vernal, Utah; one brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Veda Olsen of Big Piney; two sisters, Cherrill Marx and Linda and husband Glen Silvis, all of Price; five grandchildren, Raymond Terry and wife Mindy Terry, Lorra Terry, Christy and Cara Gardiner of Vernal, Utah; one great-grandchild, Cori Jordan Terry of Vernal; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; one son, Raymond Craig Jarvie; two brothers, Geraldine Olsen and Arnold Olsen.
