Mr. E. Leland Kolthoff, 88, LaGrange, died Thursday, August 22, 2002, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy. Born January 8, 1914, near Canton, a son of Emmett Clarles and Angie Ellen Campbell Kolthoff. He married Anna Muriel Ellison on June 18, 1941, in Canton. She preceded him in death on December 2, 2001. Mr. Kolthoff was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, LaGrange. He had been a farmer and an educator. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sisters, Marie Mason and Louise Ellis; and three brothers, Oscar Henry Kolthoff, James Cecil Kolthoff and Eldridge Kolthoff. Visitation and a Mass of Christian burial were held Saturday, August 24, at Notre Dame Catholic Church, LaGrange, with Father David Cox officiating. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery, LaGrange. Music was provided by Barb Logsdon, pianist; and Mary Lair, vocalist. Pallbearers were Kevin Ellison, Bobby Gene Ellison, Danny Logsdon, Lance Solter, Brad Ellison, Bill Stephens and Francis Ellison. Memorials may be made to the Notre Dame Catholic Church, LaGrange.
