Mrs. Sara Elizabeth Ketterman, 82, widow of John Ketterman, died at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. And Mrs. Allen A. Miller, near Arendtsville, Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 of complications, following an illness of about a year. She became seriously ill four days ago.
She was the oldest daughter of the late George and Katharine (Hershey) Lady and was born in Franklin township, between Cashtown and Arendtsville, and had always resided in Adams county.
Surviving are two daughter, Mrs. E. Cecil Stover, Arendtsville, and Mrs. Allen A. Miller, near Arendtsville; five sons, Samuel M. Ketterman, of Abilene, Kansas; Calvin D. Ketterman and Harry C. Ketterman, both of McKnightstown R. D.; Charles E. Ketterman, of Greenwich, Ohio, and John B. Ketterman, of Harrisburg; 26 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one brother, Samuel Lady, of Abilene, Kansas, and one sister, Mrs. John Baer, also of Abilene.
She was a member of the Arendtsville Lutheran church.
Mr. Ketterman died about 20 years ago.
Brief funeral services from the Miller home Saturday morning at 9:00 with further services in Flohr’s Lutheran church at 10:00, where Mrs. Ketterman was a member for many years, the Rev. George B. Ely officiating. Interment in the cemetery adjoining the church.
