Mrs. Wachter died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006, at her home after a brief illness. She was born Oct. 9, 1918, in Pleasanton, the daughter of Enrico and Ena Purgatorio Matarazzi. She graduated from high school in Frontenac.Mrs. Wachter was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg. She married Andrew Wachter on June 21, 1941, in Frontenac. He died March 9, 1989. Survivors include three sons, A.J. and Bill Wachter, both of Pittsburg, and John Wachter, Lawrence; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
