June V. (Bowers) Achenbach, 93, formerly of Reading, passed away peacefully in The Topton Lutheran Home, Henry Health Care Center on Thursday morning, April 21, 2011, where she was a guest since July 2003. She was the widow of Elmer A. Achenbach, who passed away in December 1977. June was born on March 6, 1918, in Mt. Penn, the daughter of the late Frank and Lillian Bowers. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Reading, for many years. She was employed as a sales clerk at the Primrose Bridal Shop and also Judy's Closet, retiring in 1996.
June is survived by a daughter, Carole A., widow of Deomidis H. Koursaros of Reading. There are are also three grandchildren: Hari D. and Victoria A. Koursaros of Philadelphia, and John D. Koursaros of Baltimore.
