Funeral services for Thomas A. Bailey, 70, Spanish-American war veteran and highly regarded Sharon man, who died Thursday in the Veterans' hospital at Aspinwall, were held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Sample Funeral home, N. Main-av. Rev LeRoy Halbert, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated and burial was in Oakwood cemetery. Mr. Bailey, who resided at 306 Maple way, had been ill for six weeks and a patient in the hospital for a week. He was born May 26, 1871, in Sharon, a son of John and Margaret Littlejohn Bailey, and spent his entire life in this city. He served with Company G, 15th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry during the Spanish American war. Surviving are two sons, Russell and Nelson, both of Sharon; a daughter, Mrs. Ivan Leidy, Sharon; two grandchildren; two brothers, John Bailey, Wellington, Kan., and County Commission James L. Bailey of Sharon; two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Williams and Mrs. Arthur Darby, Sharon. Pallbearers were Arthur Bailey, James Bailey, Gavey Bailey, Edward Garvey, Reinhart Cook and Carson Stewart. {herald}
