Ivester
Claude E. Ivester, age 42, of the Cleveland community, Madison, S.C., passed away early Sat. morning in the Stephens County Hospital. Mr. Ivester was born April 19, 1923 in Stephens County, a son of the late George Ivester and Mrs. Emma Stone Ivester. He was a member of the Old Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Odella Weaver Ivester; 4 daughters, Geneva, Lucy, Dorothy and Kathy Ivester all of the home; one sister, Mrs. Mattie Mae Rider, Toccoa; one brother, Delbert Ivester, U.S. Army, Alaska. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Old Toccoa Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Savage and the Rev. Gene Power officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers: Naman Ivester, Kenneth Adams, Charles Moore, Jake Grafton and Billy Hallford. The Mathews-Sisk Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
