Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude Broward Slade of 5055 Yacht Club Road, who died Saturday, will be held at 11 am Tuesday in the Riverside Presbyterian church, with Dr. El. Lee Stoffel officiating. Pallbearers will be Judge Harold R. Clark, Dean Dobbs, Harry T. Platt, Jr., Dr. Hugh A. Carithers, Fred C. Langston, and J. J. McCranie, Jr. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of George H. Hewell & Son Northside Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Panhellenic Alumnae Association Scholarship Fund in c/o Mrs. Walter F. Mierse, 4878 Empire Ave., Jacksonville, Fla. Mrs. Slade was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville and a member of Riverside Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, R. Kirven Slade; a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Trudy) Harr; 2 brothers, A. Sidney Broward, Jr., of Jacksonville and Gordon W. Broward of Ormond Beach; 2 sisters, Mrs. A. Hugh Miller, Jacksonville and Mrs. Leo Thomas Hury of Gainesville; 2 aunts, Mrs. Thomas O. Peacock and Miss Myrtle Geiger of Jacksonville.
