Mr. G.M. Shaffer, the oldest settler in the Oak Grove community died at his home Friday night after several weeks' illness. Mr. Shaffer was a good man and a faithful member of the Methodist church, having served as steward for more than 50 years. He is survived by his wife, several sons and daughters and grandchildren. He was laid to rest in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. The Bienville Democrat Dec. 29, 1932.
