Funeral services were held at Judge Morgan's residence. She was buried next to her husband behind the Baptist Church in Delphi Falls.
In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by a son, Barnard (1862), and most recently a daughter, Avis (Sep 1865).
Mary's parents were Johannes I. (15 Nov 1754 - 6 Jan 1800) and Catherine Wetzel Ostrander (6 Feb 1753 - 16 Nov 1847). Dutch Reformed Church records indicate Mary was born 18 Oct and christened 29 Oct 1791, with John Ostrander and Mary Hermann as witnesses.
She met Matthew Slocum in Albany and they married 9 April 1814. In 1817 they moved to the Village of Delphi in Onondaga County where they lived in rooms adjoining the family business, "Slocum & Marble." The family home was called Cheapside.
They had 11 children: Elizabeth Coggeshall (Morgan) in 1815, Charles Coggeshall, John Ostrander in 1820, Barnard in 1822, George Engs, Henry Warner in 1827 (FAG #3311), William Neil, Avis (Bailey) in 1831, Kate, Sarah, and Catherine.
