Christian “Chris Fickes, 61, died at his home Orrtanna R1, Sunday morning at 10:20. He had been ill for the last seven weeks.
A native of Franklin County, he was a son of the late John and Susan Emma (Heckman) Fickes. He had been employed for a number of years at the Boyer crate factory, Biglerville.
Surviving are his wife, the former Annie Elizabeth Shultz, to whom he had been married for 40 years last November 23. Also surviving are four children, Mrs. John Shindledecker, Fairfield R1; Nelson Eugene Fickes, Orrtanna R1; Mrs. Harvey Wiles, Orrtanna R1; and Mrs. Fred Baker, Biglerville R2; 12 grandchildren; and theses brothers and sisters, Clyde, Ray and Joseph Fickes and Mrs. Harriet McClure, all of near Fayetteville.
Funeral services Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 from the Bender Funeral Home, Carlisle St., with the Rev Roger Burtner officiating. Interment in Flohr’s Cemetery.
