George Reed, a Confederate veteran, died Tuesday at his home near Pine Grove, this county, after an illness of more than a year. The deceased was 76 years old and was a member of the Methodist Church. He was highly respected of all who knew him and was a man of upright character. The funeral was held this afternoon.
