Marshall Barnes, 88, of 1A Quail Ridge Court, Owensboro, died Monday, Dec. 16. 1985, at his home. He was born in Ohio County, was a retired banker, and was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church. He was president of Beaver Dam Deposit Bank from 1940 to 1981 and was also a former vice president of Owensboro National Bank. He served a 4-year term as a member of the state House of Representatives and had also been clerk of the House. His wife, Anne Barnes, died in 1982.

Survivors include a son, John Timothy Barnes of Louisville, a daughter, Patricia Barnes Furgason of Owensboro; and two grandchildren.

Services are at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Settle Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial in Sunnyside Cemetery, Beaver Dam. Visitation after 3 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home, and also from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at the church. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Marshall and Anne Barnes Scholarship Fund, c.o. Trust Dept. Beaver Dam Deposit Bank, P.O. Box 67, Beaver Dam, KY 42320.
