Mrs. Myrtice I. Aycock, 92, passed away June 10, 2012 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Weldon, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Garnie and Irene Inscoe; her husband, Gordon Aycock; her brother, Claude Inscoe; her sister, Annie Mae Knight.

Left to cherish her memory is sons, Horace (Doris) and Wayne (Linda). Her loving grandchildren: Teresa A. Lyles, Ryan Aycock, Sandra A. Rowland, Candice A. Gibbs, Christopher Aycock. Her Great-grandchildren: Carmen Lyles, Mary-Beth Aycock, Nathaniel Rowland, Nicholas Rowland, Joshua Rowland, Jarrett Warren and Emma Lynn Wheeler. She is also survived by her sister, Justine Robertson of Littleton.

Mrs. Aycock was the oldest living member of her beloved church, Corinth United Methodist Church. She was an avid gardener and cook and was so up to age 87. She was so loving and kind to everyone she met.

Thank you from the family to the loving staff at Liberty Commons. We saw their love in the combing of her hair, gentle baths, sweet kisses and prayers and words of comfort. God bless you.

The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service, who is handling arrangements, Tuesday, June 12, 2012 from 7-8:30 pm.

Funeral services will be held by Rev. Stan Lewis at Corinth United Methodist Church Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 2:00 pm. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
