He was a son of Mrs. Maggie Guldon Allison, Gettysburg, and the late William P Allison.
Surviving in addition to his mother are six children, Mrs. Harold Miller, Gettysburg; Mrs. Jean Sadler, Mechanicsburg; Dorothy L., John H., Jr., Richard L., and Nancy Jean, all at home; two grandchildren, and six sisters, Mrs. Glenn Roth, Mrs. Nellie Nary and Mrs. Norman Singley, all of Gettysburg; Mrs. Ed Schlosser, Arendtsville; Mrs. Paul Keller, Chambersburg, and Mrs. Bernard Small, Ohio.
