Sheboygan Press, Mon. June 25, 1973, p. 12, c. 6. Norbert J. Abler, 62, of 9 Seventh St., Fond du Lac died Saturday night at St. Agnes Hospital there after a lingering illness. Born on Dec. 15, 1910 at Mt. Calvary, he was a son of the late Jacob and Katherine Weber Abler. He was a highly decorated veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theatre in an engineering construction battalion. He married the former Armella Abler at Mt. Calvary. Mr. Abler was employed by the Brenner, Hutter and Immel Construction Co. of Fond du Lac. Survivors include his widow; three sisters, Mrs. Ervin Hau of Mt. Calvary, Mrs. Ben Dreifuerst and Mrs. Francis Oestreicher both of Milwaukee, and two brothers, Richard and Leo, both of Mt. Calvary. Funeral services will be Tuesday with brief family rites at 9 a.m. at the Huss Funeral Home, St. Cloud, and mass at 9:30 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mt. Calvary, with the Rev. Rupert Dorn, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
