Fond du Lac Reporter, Mon. Apr. 3, 2006, p. A6:2. Leo P. Abler, 89, of Mt. Calvary, died on Sat. Apr. 1, 2006, at All About Life Rehabilitation Center in Fond du Lac. He was born on Aug. 20, 1916, in Mt. Calvary, a son of the late Jacob and Katherine Weber Abler. He attended Holy Cross Grade School in Mt. Calvary. On Sept. 4, 1950, he married Felicia Buerger at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on Mar. 20, 2002. Leo worked for his brother at Richard Abler Plumbing and Heating in Mt. Calvary until retiring. Leo was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mt. Calvary. He enjoyed gardening and tending to his hobby farm. Surviving are nieces and nephews, and their families; and three sisters-in-law, Armella Abler, Delores Buerger and Marian Buerger. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; two brothers, Richard and Norbert Abler; and four sisters, Coletta Dreifuerst, Sybilla Oestreicher, Laura Hau and Mary Abler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6 p.m. Wed. Apr. 5, 2006 in Mt. Calvary. The Rev. Gerald Pehler, ofm cap, will officiate. Entombment will be at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery in Fond du Lac. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until the time of services on Wednesday at the church. A memorial fund will be established for Holy Cross Church. Sippel Funeral Home of St. Cloud is assisting the family.
