Michael Corcoran, Sr., is our 3rd great grandfather! We are blessed to have this photograph of him from the Linda Pilkinton Collection, Columbia, TN.

Michael's birth and death dates and family are being researched by the Huddersfield Archives in England. We are also in touch with some of our family presently living over there.

If you know this family, of if you are related to them, please contact me!

We hope to learn all about this 9 membered family. We would love to be able to "connect the dots" of this family's lives and their origin in Ireland.

Linda Pilkintion said that this line is of Scotch-Irish descent.

We have had two ladies in the early 1900's write their family history. This is where Linda Pilkinton gathered the earliest memories of our family. It is through family lore that we learned about Michael Corcoran who owned a large fish market in Huddersfield.

We need someone to help us with finding a document that lists his name. He would have worked in the town center, called "The Shambles". His stall would have been on the outside of the market. Fresh ocean fish were brought in by narrow boats that were "poled" along the banks and under bridges to get to Huddersfield market.

We need help in finding more censuses for him. He must have died in the mid 1840's, as we only find Mary his wife, in the other censuses. We just do not know enough about England, and where else we can search for his life's "paper trail".

His Spouse & Children (eventually I will make 17 separate web pages for them):

Mary Ann ?Emerson, 1791–1874

Mary Corcoran (m. ?John "Patrick" Woods; 4 children), 1824–1880

Patrick William Corcoran, Civil War, Prisoner of War, 1828–1886 (m. Emiline Amanda Alley; 13 children. Our line.)

Catherine Corcoran, (m. Martin Green; no children) 1829–1891

?Johanna Corcoran (unknown husband), 1831–?

?Anthony "John" Corcoran (unknown wife), 1835–1855

Michael and Martha Airey Corcoran, Jr., (six children) 1839–1888 (Eddie in Huddersfield has developed on ancestry.com another set of parents. Our line needs to be reworded, Feb 2018).

Mary Ann Corcoran, (never married) 1839–1902
