BUTLER- FRANCES E. "FRANKIE" HITCHMAN, 81, of Butler, passed away Wednesday morning, April 20, 2011 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness.

Frankie was born September 7, 1929, the daughter of Kenneth and Grace Baker Wareham and graduated from Butler High School in 1947.

Just four months later, on September 21, 1947 she married Albert L. Hitchman, and the two remained lifelong Butler residents.

A supportive wife, when Al purchased what is now Hitchman's Market in Butler, the two worked hand-in-hand running the store. A family-run business, Hitchman's Market is currently run by Al and Frankie's children, Jerry Hitchman and Jo Dee Derr.

Frankie enjoyed entertaining and party planning. She even catered for a number of years. Frankie gave so much to the Butler community and spearheaded fund raising to help establish the park in Butler. Frankie also enjoyed golfing.

She was a member of Three Crosses, a United Methodist Fellowship.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Jerry and Lee Ann Hitchman and Terry and Tammy Hitchman; daughter and son-in-law, Jo Dee and Kim Derr of Lakeville; grandchildren, Aaron (Savannah) Hitchman, Alexis, Ashley, Ben, Sara and Sadie Hitchman, and Kellie and Brian Derr; sister, Eleanora "Ellie" Hitchman, brothers, Hal Wareham and Russell "Buzz" (Joan) Wareham.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Albert L. Hitchman, who passed away of October 8, 2010; daughter, Lora Lin Hitchman who passed away in 1972.

The Hitchman family will receive friends Friday, April 22, 2011 from 4-7 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Pastors Don Earlenbaugh and Keith McLaughlin will officiate. Burial will follow in Zion Four Corners Cemetery.

Memorial contributions to Worthington Township-Butler Rescue Squad or Three Crosses Building Fund may be made at the funeral home.
