Addie Faye Edwards, 60, of Ridgeway, died Monday, March 5, 2001, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. Her husband, John W. Edwards Sr., 61, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at his home. Addie Edwards was born January 12, 1941, in Horry County, S.C., and was a daughter of the late Pauline Bullard. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, James Davis. She retired from Tultex after 20 years of service. John Edwards was born March 1, 1940 in Madeline, W.Va., and was a son of the late George Buford and Maggie Edwards. He worked as a superintendent for Frith Construction for over 20 years. They attended Highland Baptist Church in Ridgeway. Surviving are their two sons, John W. Edwards Jr. of Martinsville and James Wade Edwards of Stuart, and two grandchildren. Addie Edwards is also survived by one sister, Kathleen Eames of Collinsville, and a brother, Billy Bullard of Anchorage, Alaska. John Edwards is also survived by one sister, Laura Ashby of Snow Creek, and three brothers, G.B. Edwards Jr. and Robert Edwards, both of Oak Level, and Ray Edwards of Collinsville. A double funeral was held Friday at McKee-Stone Funeral Services chapel in Martinsville with the Rev. Lawrence Harris officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Burial Park. Pallbearers were Jimmy Lackey, Mitch Lackey, James Eames, Samuel Hollandsworth, Buford Amos, Jimmy Taylor, Bill Lawson, Gary Locklear, Francis Oakes, Tim Howard, Jesse Taylor and Jeff Ebert. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital, P.O. Box 4788, Martinsville, Va. 24115.
