George Buford "G.B." Edwards Jr., 78, of Yanceyville, N.C., died Monday, May 10, 2010, at The Brian Center in Yanceyville.
He was born in West Virginia on Aug. 2, 1931, to George B. Edwards Sr. and Maggie Moore Edwards. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John W. Edwards.
He was a self-employed painter.
Surviving are two sons, George C. Edwards of Ruffin, N.C., and James B. Edwards of Reidsville, N.C.; one daughter, Joyce C. Reaves of Rock Hill, S.C.; two brothers, Ray Edwards of Martinsville and Robert Edwards of Bassett; one sister, Laura Ashby of Martinsville; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Roselawn Burial Park with Pastor Wayne Kennon officiating.
The family will receive friends for one hour before the service Wednesday at Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home.
