Daisy Bostian, former long-time resident of Mooresville and more recently of Raleigh, died at Universal HealthCare Nursing Home in Raleigh on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009. She would have celebrated her 101st birthday on April 9 of this year.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at the Central United Methodist Church chapel in Mooresville on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Robert Wiseman officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood Memorial Park in Mooresville.

Born April 9, 1908 in Mooresville, Mrs. Bostian was a daughter of the late William Cleveland Moore and Minnie Shu Moore. She spent most of her adult life in Mazeppa and Mooresville. Before entering the work force, she spent many years as a homemaker and mother of three.

Her children will forever treasure memories of her loving, selfless nature and her lifetime devotion to each of them. Daisy will be remembered as a warm and friendly lady with a great sense of humor who shared her spirited personality with friends and strangers alike. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and music. She was an active member of Triplett and Central United Methodist Churches where she was a substitute organist and pianist for her Sunday school classes. She worked as a sales associate at Revco Drug Stores and dietitian at Mooresville Senior High School. Mrs.

Bostian is survived by her children, Brenda B. Davenport and husband, J.B., of Charlotte, Sheila B. Johnson and husband, Fin, of Raleigh, and Karen B. McFadyen and husband, Richard, of Orlando, Fla.; sister, Barbara Edwards and husband, Bill, of Mooresville; brother, Bill Moore, of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Tracy D. Boyce of Charlotte, Juston B. Davenport of Cranberry Township, Pa., Melody K. Roe of Raleigh, and Doug W. Johnson of Raleigh. Mrs. Bostian is also survived by four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Her husband of 39 years, Marvin Guy Bostian, and brother, James Forrest Moore, preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 214 N. Academy Street, Mooresville, NC 28115. The Bostian family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Cavin-Cooke Funeral Home in Mooresville.
