Edward Franklin Bingham (August 13, 1828 – September 5, 1907) was a United States federal judge.
Bingham was born in West Concord, Vermont. He read law in 1850. He was a Prosecuting attorney of Vinton County, Ohio from 1850 to 1855. He was in private practice in McArthur, Ohio from 1850 to 1861. He was a Member, Ohio State House of Representatives from 1856 to 1857. He was in private practice in Columbus, Ohio from 1861 to 1867. He was a City solicitor, Columbus, Ohio from 1867 to 1871. He was in private practice in Columbus, Ohio from 1871 to 1873. He was a judge on the Court of Common Pleas, Fifth Judicial District, Columbus, Ohio from 1873 to 1888. He was in private practice in Columbus, Ohio from 1903 to 1907.
Chief Bingham was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. Bingham received a recess appointment from Grover Cleveland on April 22, 1887, to a seat vacated by D.K. Cartter. Formally nominated on December 20, 1887. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on January 23, 1888, and received his commission the same day. Bingham's service was terminated on April 30, 1903, due to retirement.
He died in Union, West Virginia.
