Diane E. Selby, known as "Zelda" Selby, 72, of Curtis, Michigan, died at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital in Newberry, Michigan, on Monday evening, March 28, 2011.

Born on July 2, 1938 in Eaton County, Mi., Diane Porter was a daughter of the late Curnell E. Porter & Edith V. (Shaw) Porter. On March 20, 1954 Zelda Porter married George W. Selby in Eaton County. They travelled to this area prior to moving to the Curtis area the first time in 1968. They returned to Grand Ledge but vacationed in the area until she returned in 2009. Diane was employed at Walter Dimmick Petroleum as a cashier until her retirement for health reasons in 2009. Diane enjoyed cooking and while employed she made and delivered meals to the wounded/disabled veterans in Eaton County. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and grand and great-grandchildren. She crocheted afghans and blankets for her "new arrivals" and for family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Diane is preceded in death by George, her beloved husband of over 55 years in 2007, an infant daughter Marrietta, and 2 brothers Don and Dale.

Survivors included her children George (Vaughn) of Leslie; Curnell of Lake Odessa; Diane (Jacob) Moses of Curtis; Kathy (Guy) Ackley of Germfask; Merlin of Germfask and Robert (Kathy) of Leslie; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and her sister Norma Patrick.
